The APHTRO conference 2015 is planning to be held in Bangkok, Thailand. Everyone with an interest in heritage railways and museums will be warmly welcomed.

Booking is opened now. It is advised earlier booking, no train seat is available just before the event. Booking form can be downloaded from the link at the bottom of this page.

The venue of the conference is Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

Schedule of the conference prgramme is;
20 Oct Tue – Return trip on Nam Tok line (optional)
21 Oct Wed – Train ride on Maeklong Line and a visit to Thonburi Depot
22 Oct Thu – Business Session: APHTRO Annual General Meeting and Presentations
23 Oct Fri – Steam train ride – return trip to Ayutthaya

All hotels are located within walking distance from Hua Lamphong Railway station, the main terminal in Bangkok. Accommodation will be booked by each attendees, through www.agoda.com, www.hotels.com etc.

Access to Bangkok
Bangkok is one of major air route junction in Southeast Asia.
Many airlines fly to there. You can find your flight easily through the internet, for example www.expedia.com or each airline website.

Arrival information
Please check this page or ask your local Thai Embassy for your Visa information.
ATMs are widely available, easy to withdraw Thai Baht at airport and many other places. Reasonable Money Exchange is available too. Airport Rail Link and MRT Blue Line via Makkasan station connect from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to Hua Lamphong station.
The climate of Thailand is hot but it is advised bringing long sleeve clothes for too air conditioned places.

For those who attend WATTRAIN congress in Japan too
From North and South America: Take flight to Tokyo then make side trip to Bangkok.
From Europe and Oceania: Take flight to Bangkok then make side trip to Tokyo.
From Asia: “Triangle route” can be planned with LCCs.

Steam train will arrive Bangkok Hua Lamphong station around 19:00 scheduled time on 23rd. Then you would be able to take following flights to Tokyo.
